Quabbin Reservoir is located within a large park in Belchertown, Massachusetts, with countless access points for enjoying a beautiful view. Parking is free throughout the main entrance, Middle or Eastern entrances, Goodnough Dike, Hank’s Meadow, and Quabbin Tower locations.
As soon as Colin and I entered, we noticed the fresh air, bountiful tall trees, and rolling mountains. This park offers a variety of activities such as fishing, boating, biking, and skiing. Considering this is the primary water supply for Boston, there are some restrictions to protect the water supply (sorry no dogs!) so be mindful of the signs and feel free to get more information at mass.gov. There are main roads, so we were able to drive through some areas and stop to walk and explore various sites. There is also a rock monument declaring the length and height of Winsor Dam.
With a park of this size and magnificent scenery, it is easy to get happily lost in nature. We will certainly be visiting Quabbin Reservoir Park again, and hope that you do too!
