Located at 1165 Sullivan Ave, South Windsor, CT, this trail offers an easy hike through marshes, woods, and fields. Parking is easy and free with a small dedicated lot which can accommodate about 10 cars.
As you pull into the parking lot you’ll see a memorial for Major Michael Donnelly, displaying the poem High Flight by John Gillepsie Magee, Jr.
There are a few different trails all to varying lengths, making this place great for quick hikes and extended adventures alike. There are several benches and decks which serve as elevated viewing areas to observe the surrounding land.
There is an abundance of wildlife you can encounter on your hike, and it’s very likely you’ll see plenty of rabbits who have made this preserve their home. It’s often very quiet without many travelers, so you get a true sense of peace on this walk.
